Webflow to Astro migrationKeep your content.Drop the seat fees.
We move Webflow sites to Astro: every Collection imported from Webflow’s CSV export, interactions rebuilt in CSS and small scripts, forms sent to your CRM, and every URL kept or redirected with a 301. Webflow’s code export leaves the CMS out, so we rebuild rather than export. From $6k, in 3–5 weeks.

What can you take out of Webflow, and what has to be rebuilt?
The content comes out; the site has to be rebuilt. Webflow’s code export gives you HTML, CSS and JavaScript but leaves out the CMS, ecommerce, user accounts and localized content, while each Collection exports as a CSV file. So we rebuild the templates in Astro, import every Collection from its CSV, rebuild interactions and forms, and map every URL.
| In Webflow | In Astro | How it moves |
|---|---|---|
| Static pages | Astro components and layouts | Rebuilt from the Designer, checked side by side |
| CMS Collections | Content collections or a headless CMS | Exported as CSV per Collection, then imported |
| Reference and multi-reference fields | Relations between collections | Rebuilt from the IDs in the CSV files |
| Collection page URLs | The same paths, or 301s | Mapped item by item |
| Interactions | CSS transitions, scroll-driven animation, small scripts | Rebuilt; heavy timelines only where they matter |
| Forms | Your CRM or a small serverless endpoint | Rebuilt with spam protection and notifications |
| Localization | Astro routes per language | Exported one locale at a time and mapped URL by URL |
| 301 redirects in site settings | _redirects or host rules | Copied into the new URL map |
| Ecommerce and user accounts | Not moved to Astro | Stores move to Shopify; memberships are scoped as an app |

Why are SaaS teams moving off Webflow in 2026?
Mostly cost and control, rarely speed. Webflow (71.3%) and Astro (71.1%) sites pass Core Web Vitals on mobile at almost the same rate in HTTP Archive’s September 2026 data. What pushes teams out is the bill as editors and languages grow, a CMS that can’t leave with you, and a site engineers can’t change in code.
- Seats
Paying for every editor
A full seat is $39 a month and a limited seat $15, billed yearly, on top of the site plan.
Instead: No platform seats on Astro; a CMS adds seats only if you pick a paid one.
- Pricing
New prices at renewal
Webflow’s 2026 plans reach agency and freelancer workspaces at the next renewal or billable change.
Instead: Hosting that costs nothing on Cloudflare’s free plan for a static site.
- Lock-in
A CMS that can’t leave
Code export leaves the CMS behind, so the content model lives only inside Webflow.
Instead: Content in your repository or a CMS you choose, in formats you can take anywhere.
- Code
Workarounds instead of features
Custom data, product embeds and AI features end up as embeds and third-party scripts.
Instead: Plain components your engineers and AI coding tools can change.

What does Webflow cost next to Astro?
For one editor the gap is small; it grows with every seat, language and add-on. A static Astro site on Cloudflare’s free plan costs nothing to serve, and MigrateLab puts a 50-page Webflow CMS site with five editors at about $130 a month against $0–$20 after a move to Astro.
| Webflow | Astro on Cloudflare | |
|---|---|---|
| Site plan | Basic $15 a month without the CMS; Premium $25 a month with 20,000 CMS items; billed yearly | Framework free; static assets free on Cloudflare |
| Editors | Full seat $39 a month; limited seat $15 a month; reviewers free | No fee; a headless CMS adds seats only if you choose one |
| Languages | Localize from $9 a month | Routes per language in code |
| 50-page CMS site, 5 editors | About $130 a month | $0–$20 a month |

When should you stay on Webflow?
Stay on Webflow when marketing builds new pages in the Designer every week without a developer, and the bill is fine. Move when seats, languages and add-ons keep growing the bill, or when the site needs to be code your team controls.
Move to Astro if
- The Webflow bill grows with every seat, language and add-on
- Engineers or AI coding tools should be able to change the site
- The CMS model no longer fits your content
- You want the content in formats you own
Stay on Webflow if
- Marketing builds new page layouts in the Designer weekly
- The site has a store or memberships inside Webflow
- Nobody on the team can review a pull request
- Your Webflow plan renews at the old price for another year
Can I export my Webflow site and keep it?
Webflow exports HTML, CSS and JavaScript, but the export leaves out the CMS, ecommerce, user accounts and localized content (Webflow Help, code export). The content comes out separately, one CSV file per Collection (Webflow Help, importing and exporting CMS content), so a real move means rebuilding the templates and importing the content.
What happens to Webflow interactions?
Most interactions become CSS transitions, scroll-driven animations or a few lines of JavaScript, which load faster than the Webflow runtime. Complex timelines are rebuilt with a small animation library only where they matter.
What happens to Webflow forms?
Forms post to your CRM (HubSpot, Attio or similar) or to a small serverless endpoint on your host, with spam protection and a notification to your team. Each form is tested on staging before the switch.
How long does a Webflow to Astro migration take?
Most Webflow sites move in 3–5 weeks. Several Collections with reference fields, localization or heavy interactions add time; we give a fixed timeline after the inventory.
What will we save by leaving Webflow?
Seats and the site plan. A full Webflow seat is $39 a month and a limited one $15, billed yearly, on top of a site plan from $15 a month ($25 with the CMS). A static Astro site on Cloudflare’s free plan costs nothing to host; MigrateLab puts a 50-page site with five editors at about $130 a month on Webflow and $0–$20 on Astro.
Will our marketing team still be able to edit content?
Yes, in a headless CMS such as Sanity or Storyblok, or a Git-based editor such as Keystatic. What changes is layout: building a new page type becomes a developer’s job, so we set up enough reusable blocks for the pages you publish most.
Do you move Webflow ecommerce or memberships?
No. Stores move to Shopify, which we design and build; memberships and gated content need an auth provider and are scoped as a web app. Marketing pages, blogs, resources and case studies are what we move to Astro.
Have other teams moved from Webflow to Astro?
Yes, and some wrote it up: Very Good Ventures described its move from Webflow to Astro, and Omnia rebuilt its Webflow site in Astro with AI agents in a day of agent time.
